Our Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our services, process, and how we can support you and your family through occupational therapy.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. You can simply choose a time to book your appointment.
What is the process to get started?
To get started, book an appointment. You’ll receive a welcome email with an online intake form. Please allow 20 minutes to complete the form before your appointment.
What is the process for paying with plan managers?
We will send the invoice directly to your plan manager, who will then pay us on your behalf.
Can I claim a rebate through Medicare?
Plans and referrals may offer a rebate through Medicare. You can claim online at Services Australia. We can process your rebate using HICAPS. Please note: you cannot use private health insurance and a Medicare plan for the same appointment. A GP referral and care plan must be completed before your appointment to be eligible for a claim.
What is the process when self-managed?
If you are self-managed, payment is due at the time of your appointment. Afterwards, we will send you a receipt to process your claim with NDIS.
What can I expect in the first appointment?
During your first session, we’ll conduct a parent interview and begin any necessary assessments with you and your child. The appointment will last for 60 minutes. If you prefer to discuss certain topics without your child present, let us know, and we can arrange a parent-only session (this will be invoiced separately).
Afterwards, you may receive online questionnaires to complete at your convenience. In some cases, a follow-up appointment may be needed for a comprehensive assessment. Once completed, we will review the findings and provide a tailored therapy plan, which will be discussed in your next session. We also schedule parent-only sessions every six sessions to discuss your child’s progress, update home programs, share recommendations, and set new goals. These sessions ensure therapy aligns with your child’s changing needs.
Do you run groups?
We don’t run regular groups, but please check our social media pages for upcoming events.
What if the OT isn’t the right fit?
We understand that finding the right fit is important. If you feel that your OT isn’t the right fit, we can arrange for you to meet a different therapist.
