Sunshine Coast Children's Occupational Therapy

Call us:

One of the most important aspects of being a therapist is reading. Reading books, reading journal articles, reading blog posts, reading websites and research links and anything else we can get our hands on to help support our knowledge and clinical reasoning. Our work doesn’t stop when you leave the clinic, in fact, that’s where our job really only begins.
I find myself often revisiting books I’ve read before and learning something new each time I read them. Reflecting on the little pea I have walking in the door both now and in the past and almost squealing in excitement to be able to have the next piece of the puzzle for how to support them and their family.
This weeks book: Lost and Found: Helping Behaviourally Challenging Students by Dr Ross Greene. This book is an absolute must read for ANYONE who is walking the path of a little pea who finds themselves often in trouble! One of my favourite quotes which you will find in the very first chapter is “Challenging kids are challenging because they’re lacking the skills to not be challenging.”
If you have a little pea who needs some help with learning the skills, give us a call on (07)53756322.
